Jichao Yoon (Fried Meatballs)

Jichao Yoon or FriedMeatballs.

The cooks are Moung Saephan, Yao Saephan, Cheng Saechao, ChioChoy Saechao and Nai kuang Saetern.

This is a Mien recipe name is Jichao Yoon. It is like a spicy meatball. Themain ingredients is ground pork. We cook it here the same way we did in Laos.But in the USA, we use medium pan to fried. In Laos we use big pan to friedthe same size as a table. We cook it for big weddings. Every family cooks it alittle differently with different ingredients.

JICHAO YOON

Ingredients

7 lbs ground pork.

1/2 cup fresh ginger.

1 cup cilantro.

1 cup 2 bunches green onion.

12 Eggs.

Crushed red pepper

1/2 black pepper.

1 1-2 teaspoon MSG oil for deep frying.

1 half cup mien cilantro (in same family as cilantro)

1 cup salt.

2 Stalks lemon grass.

1 head garlic

1/8 cup salt

1/8 cup red pepper.

Directions

1.Slice lemon grass put into large bowl

2.Chop cilantro and mien cilantro put into large bowl

3.Mince garlic

4.Put MSG and 1-2 of the salt and pepper on meat

5.Put red pepper on meat

6.Mince araun water from ginger add to meat

7.And cilantro lemon grass green onion miencilantro and 5 eggs and mixwell

8.Make small meat ball about one inch in diameter

9.Deep fry about 10 or 20 meat balls in oil and fry about 5 minutes

10.Drain well

11.Eat with rice
