Name: Fekona
Country_of_Remedy: United States of America
Ingredients: cotton balls
saline solution ( the kind for your eyes)
Instructions: I have been a chronic nose bleeder all my life and I only been to the ER once they could not cauterize my nose so they could only cram a cotton thing that looks like a tampon up my nose so I thought... Well if I can do this at home and save me and my insurance some money that would be great so here is my homemade remedy.
Saturate a cotton ball in the solution roll it between your fingers and push it up your nose even past the point of where it feels uncomfortable till you cannot get it further but do make sure that you leave some of it hang out of your nose so you can pull it out later if you are a heavy bleeder like me leave it the first time till it is saturated in your blood, get another cotton ball ready pull the bad one out and replace it with the clean one keep doing this till it stops, you will know when after a few min I give 15 that there is no exposed blood on the cotton
This Works wonders for me!
Good Luck

Name: Rey
Country_of_Remedy: USA
Ingredients: Your hand, possible chair
Instructions: As I have been getting nose bleeds since i was young thisw is what i used to do. One never tilt your head back that is the worse thing to do. I would pinch my nose right at the nasal bone. next i would sit on a chair and place my head between my legs. Keep the pressure there for about 5-10 mins and it should clot right up. I have also tried the tissue up the lip and that helps also.

Country of Remedy = India
Name of Remedy = Nose Bleeds
Ingredients = Frehly sliced onion
Instructions = This is a great home remedy from our age-old Ayurveda and it works every time. At the onset of a nose-bleed,make the person lie down with the head tilted back, slice a big chunk of onion and place it under the nose. The fumes from the raw onion act as a natural coagulant and the bleeding stops in a few seconds.

Ingredients: matches!vaseline OR lip gloss
Instructions: I used to get nose bleeds frequently when I was younger (I am now 20) and now my younger 7 yr old brother gets them. Fortunately my aunt (who is a RN) showed me an easy trick. . . .As soon as you feel a nose bleed coming on get a match and light it,
blow it out and then breathe the smoke up the sideof the nose that is bleeding. Do this GENTLY, do not sniff hard! That will make it worse! When you do this, make surethat the smoke goes up your nose. You will be able to tell that it has because you will have a smokey taste in your throat. . . it's not all that great but it works! The ingredients in the match help cauterize (sp?) the broken blood vessel. Sometimes you may have to this twice. But the great thing is that it will stop the nose bleed almost instantly. You will still have some blood discharge because of the rest of the blood left trickling down your nose. I would reccomend not breathing through that side of your nose for a few minutes also, so that the scab wont be sucked off. Most nose bleeds are caused by a dry nose, if you apply
either some sort of lip gloss or vaseline to the inside of your nose it also will help keep it soft and reduce the amount of nose bleeds. Unfortunately this only works if you are able to do the match trick before your nose begins to bleed too much, because once it begins to bleed alot the nazal passage is clogged and the smoke from the match cannot go through the nose.

Ingredients: wet paper towels, icepack

Instructions: I get really bad nosebleeds (I mean we're talking gushing here) and I'm just a 6th grader! But I've learned that if I get one during the night, I can take care of it myself without bothering my parents. Here's what I do: I sit down ON THE FLOOR with my back against the wall. Then I take a wet paper towel and press it against my nose. while I'm doing this I have the ice against the back of my neck.
1) don't pinch your nose, let it all drain out.
2) keep your head forward so that the blood won't drain down your throat and make you puke!
3) If it's bad DON'T FREAK OUT!!! I've noticed that this only makes it worse. (try sing quietly to yourself to keep calm)
4) when it's stoped DON'T SNIFFLE! the reason that you get nosebleeds(atleast the kind that I get: sinus) is that the caplilaries in your sinuses break. If you sniffle you will break them open again.

Ingredients: water
Instructions: I suffered nosebleeds as a child. I had a particularly bad nosebleed that I couldn't stop. My Grandfather took a mouthful of water from a glass, pursed his lips and sprayed a fine layer of water into my face. He aimed for the bridge of my nose, but of course it went everywhere! I don't know if it was the shock of what he did, or if something else was at work but the nosebleed stopped as the water hit me. He told me it was an old Chinese remedy. It works.

Ingredients: Salt water squired up the nose 1 or 2 times per day
strengthens the delicate blood vessels and softens hard mucous. So no nosebleeds!
Instructions: I started nose bleeds in my 60'sMy grandmother always said how good it was to sniff salt water up the nose.I remembered this after about 6 years of trying the doctor's remedies including steroids without success.I emptied a Vick nasal syringe of its contents and refilled with a strong solution of table salt.Squirt this up the nose while sniffing, and then just let it run down into the basin. After all its just like swimming in the sea so it can't hurt you.

Ingredients: Lettuce
Instructions: One of my mentors taught my brother that if he sticks some lettuce up his nose, it'll help stop the nose bleed. My brother gets bloody noses all the time, but after that, he hasn't had one for a few months.

One time I was at Disney World with my family when a baby in a baby carriage had a nose bleed while were waiting on line for food. My mother was helping the babies mother when a nice young woman took the babies hand and put the babies index finger in between the babies middle finger and thumb, and the babies nosebleed stopped, she explained how this is a form of acupressure and how this helps stop the nosebleed by allowing less bloodflow to the nasal area .I hope this helps

We live in Las Vegas, and when I 1st moved here each year when it was
really hot & dry combined with hot winds I'd get nose bleeds. Nothing cured this tendency to have them until I started dipping a wad moistened toilet paper into powdered cayenne pepper and putting it up my nose. I found this would cure my tendency for nose bleeds as I haven't had a nose bleed in years here in Vegas, & I've been living here for over 30 years. FYI; In reading about the benefits of cayenne pepper I learned cayenne strengthens capillary walls. thus I cured my nose bleeds not just treating the symptoms of my recurrent nose bleeds!

Thank you.  For the nose bleed information. I had a very very bad nosebleed and I wanted to have an ambulance take me to the hospital but my mom found ur website and used a cure.  Thank your soo much. Oh yes and further your should put up a warning on the nosebleed section to not take Advil, Tylenol, Ibuprofen, or aspirin, during a nosebleed or after one, because it thins the blood and makes clotting of the blood take longer. (therefore losing more blood)KEEP UP THE EXELENT WORK
With great appreciation

Well the nosebleeds have continued to be severe. Sometimes they stop when the blood clot is pulledout, I always thought it would make it worse but it actually stops it.
But if you want the nosebleed to stop within 10 minutes then take a square of paper towel and roll it up and stick it up the nostril that is bleeding then when both hands are free, hold ice on the back of your

Hi my name is Richard and I have nose bleeds alot that use to last forhours on end..... BUT NOT NOW..... I found a cure that is safe and works....all you do is when you have a bloody nose just hold you weak rist ( the
one youdon't write with ) and put it under some cold running tap water..... it
usally takes about 2-3 minutes for this to work.... what happenes is the cold water thickens the blood
thus making it easier to clot... Hope this works...

As with most vascular weaknesses the first culprit is a deficiency of vitamin C. You will find that folks who get bloody noses
repeatedly also bruise very easily (and likely are more susceptible to colds as well) That should be a big clue. Vitamin C must be the sort that has bioflavinoids in it which means it has rosehips or citurs bioflavinoids which are found naturally in the pith betweent he fruit and the skin nature knows this but chemists and ascorbic acid obviously don't! Trader Joes has a great C and so does Ester C but this is more expensive. Any adult really should take 2-3000 mgs daily with the quality of most cities air these days as it is an antioxidant, and you can go up to 10,000mgs a day with no problem the sign to back off that your body has reached its personal limit is the onset of a looser stool. Plain simple harmless you pee out the excess no bad side effects! Also to build vascular system one can purchase a great product called ALTA it is silica made from the herb HORSETAIL this will not only strengthen one's veins and arteries but strenghten your nails and hair (from where it gets its layman's healthy and thick as a HORSETAIL)

Dear Ms Gaer,
Here is one for nosebleeds....
When I was a child all the way into adulthood I also experienced many
nosebleeds. My mom would tell me to run in bathroom, get bathroom
roll it thick enough and long enough to go under upper lip while
your nose. The nosebleeds almost disappeared within minutes. It works
a charm. Good luck to all.

Ingredients: popsicle
Instructions: I am 15 and I have Von Willebrand's disease...this is a disease where the glue that holds blood clots in place are missing from my body, I have bloody noses that last for hours and hours, normal remedies don't work but these, as i have learned from the hemophilia
treatment center,do.When you have a bloody nose just eat a popsicle, the bleeding should stop within minutes. Also if u take neo-synefrine (found in most drugstores) and put some on cotton balls, then you put in up your nose and just leave it there. Wait like 2 or 3 hours or else the cotton ball will still be attached to the cotton, and when you wait, it just comes out and you don't have bloody noses for awhile!

-Cotton balls

I have basially gotten bloody noses for my entire life, and now I am 19. ever since I was a little kid, when my nose started to bleed my mother would always drench a cotton ball with Vaseline, and shove it up my nose, that way, the tissue in my nostrils were being moistened and the pressure would cause the bleeding to stop and form to a clot. Now that I am older in order for me to prevent dry nostrils and a constant flow of blood from my nose, everynight before I go to bed, I smother a Q-tip in vaseline and then line my inner most dry nostril(s) with vaseline, so my nose is good and moist until the next day, and I repeat this once everynight.

When you get a nosebleed, take some cayenne pepper right away. Red pepper, or chile pepper, or tabasco sauce will do. Take about a teaspoonful. Your nosebleed should stop within 5 minutes or less. Take cayenne pepper every day for the next few days or so, and try to eat foods spiced with cayenne pepper on a more regular basis. Cayenne pepper acts to stop all kinds of bleeding very quickly, you can even pour it directly onto a wound in an emergency. It helps keep vitamin C in the body longer. Vitamin C helps keep blood vessels strong. If you stop taking large dosages of vitamin C, you can get rebound scurvy, which can make bleeding worse. Cayenne pepper prevents this from happening. Green Vegetables are a source of vitamin K, which is also needed in trace amounts by the body to stop bleeding. Putting vaseline in the nose can help prevent nosebleeds from recurring during that time when the nose needs to heal after you have recently had a nosebleed. Things to avoid, which can cause excessive bleeding: asperine, alcohol, both of which thin the blood.
