INGREDIENTS: 3 Tablespoons ground ginger

INSTRUCTIONS: First sign of flu (aches, pains, lethargy, chills), run a tub of water as hot as you can stand it without scalding yourself. Place 3 Tablespoons of ground ginger in tub water. get in and cover under water all of your body parts up to chin. Try not to have any body prt out of water. Stay in tub until you begin to sweat (about 20 minutes), then GET OUT
of tub and dry off. GO TO BED, get under covers and go to sleep. If you stay any longer in tub you can become dizzy and lose your balance. The ginger helps to pull toxins out of your system and will help you to get over
the flu quicker. I found this in an herbal years ago and have used it with great results.

INGREDIENTS: Enough sliced onions to fill a pot
Few cloves of garlic
Vegetable broth
Olive oil
Spoon of sugar
1 or 2 tomatoes, chopped
1\2 Cup white wine, optional
Salt, Pepper to taste
INSTRUCTIONS: This recipe came from a magazine in England. This is the meat free alternative to chicken soup and in
my opinion works much better. I have found it to knock out anything from the common cold to bronchitis, sinus infections, or any other infection.Try to eat this soup at the first sign of sickness for optimal effects but it still works great if you are alreadySick. Also a good preventive measure in the winter months. In a large pot, pour enough olive oil to cover the bottom of the pot. Over medium heat, saute the onions, stirring often so they don'tstick. After a few minutes add as many cloves of garlic as you like, the more the better (garlic has it's own germ fighting properties).Cook the onions and garlic until the onions are soft. Add the chopped tomatoes and sugar and stir it some more. Continue cooking for 5-10 minutes. Add broth or water and a powdered soup base, filling the pot half to 2\3 of the way. This depends on how strong you want the soup to be. Coninue to cook for 10 min. Add the wine,if you want. This adds flavor and somehow makes it more effective but is not necisary. Cover and reduce heat a bit. Let some of the water evaporate (add more hot water to the soup if too much liquid evaporates).Season with salt, pepper, or anything else you wish to add.Drink the broth straight or for maxumum results, eat a bowl of this soup, onions and all.It is delicious and really helps get rid of what ails you!Top off with some grated cheese or make croutons by brushing olive oil, herbs, and cheese on slices of crusty french bread. Bake them in the oven at a low temp of about 200 until they are crispy. Enjoy!

baking soda 1 ounce hot water
INSTRUCTIONS: This remedy is older than computers. I used in on my children and myself. It does work. One catch, it doesn't smell too pleasant. Mix dry ingrediants into a bowl, add water in small amounts to make a thick paste. Fold a terricloth had towel in half. Spread the paste across the towel. Fold in half and apply to chest. Don't let the paste touch your skin, it will burn. Leave it on overnight or for just 30 minutes before bed. Do this for three consecutive nights and you'll notice a difference. It really does work!!

Ingredients = 1. epson salt and boiling water
2. sage, pinch salt, boiling water-tea
3. honey, v-8, juice from 1 lemon, few drops tabasco, tequila
4. vicks vapor rub
Instructions = If you have a cough, you can make a tea from a few leaves of fresh sage, you add a pinch of salt or baking soda to this-if you don't have a cough, skip this because it is awful, but it will loosen a chest cold. You can do this 2 times daily as needed. You can sip warm gingerale for nausea. Chicken broth with garlic will help alot too. Take at least 500mg of vitamin c. At first sign of a cold or flu, or to avoid one after coming in from cold weather, boil a pot of water, removefrom heat and dissolve about a cup of epson salt in it. Allow to cool down, then put vicks vapor rub on chest, back, and neck. Wrap a towel around your neck, a blanket around yourself, and soak your feet in the epson salt water until the water is cooled to body temperature. Then take a
shower immediately. If you had a fever before you did this and uncover yourself without taking a shower to close your pores, my mother says that you will have a fever worse than when you started. After showering, re-apply vicks on chest, back and throat. Put a towel or rag around your neck and pin it in place with a safety pin. Be sure to put on warm socks and keep them on. Sip a toddy made of v-8, lemon juice, a tablespoon of honey, dash of tabasco and a little tequila before bed. You will feel better in the morning-if you did'nt overdo it with the teqiula. If you did try drinking a SQUIRT brand softdrink in the morning.

Ingredients: Vitamin C tablets - chewable 500mg.
Instructions: Brush teeth and rinse out mouth. Take two or three tablets, but do not chew or swallow. Let them dissolve enough to get
a big mouthful of saliva, don't swalow the saliva. Now you havea mouthful of liquid vitamin C. Now comes the tricky part.Lean forward with you head way down so the saliva runs out yournose. Then put a finger in your mouth to get some salivaand apply it to the corners of your eyes. Eyes and nose are where the germs live. This has always worked for me, but you need to do it before the cold gets too advanced. Do it when you get the feeling of "I know I'm starting to get a cold". When you travel, take a few tablets along in case a cold attacks you then. My wife thinks this is really gross. Make sure youuse the chewable Vitamin C tabs because theare easy to dissolve.

Ingredients: Butter&Sugar or Lard or Yarrow Extract

Since I was a kid I have suffered from unproductive, stubborn coughs, no pharmacy medicine would ever work. I have tired a herbal Yarrow cough mixture, that did settle my coughs, but since I moved to Australia, you can't get that stuff down under (very backdated country). If you can get herbal cough syrup made from Yarrow extract, GET IT!
I heard this on the Radio just recently, Take 1 tbls of Butter sprinkle with sugar and eat it. Well I've tried it and it works! Watch out, butter isn't the most pleasant thing to swallow,I guess that's why the sugar...??? Donno the science behind it, but it does the trick.
Also my grandma told me that Thyme Tea is good too, however it didn't work for my stubborn cough at all, it might for others.
Oh and this is a good one too, cake some lard onto your chest and back and wrap yourself up in plastic foil put a T-shirt on while you sleep, that works too. Could use Vick's rub too, that's petroleum jelly based, should do the trick.
Donno how this one works either, but it does. GO GREASE LIGHTNING !

Good Luck y'all!

changed and my body couldn’t control itself. I couldn’t move from my bed. I had a severe fever, a bad cough, a stomachache, nausea and vomiting. This sickness lasted four days. When I told my grandmother, she said me I had a cold. She did two different things. First, she brought olive oil and rubbed it on my chest. I used this remedy three times a day. Second, she mixed sliced chili peppers with garlic and onions and cooked them for 20 minutes. I took two cups a day for two days. After two days, I felt better than before. I've got a home remedy i like to use for sinus and chest related colds.  You make a mock inhaler by breathing the steam of boiling water.  There are a number of medicinal herbs you can put into the hot water too.  Garlic is good for ANY cold because it is a natural antibiotic that does wonders for your immune system.  Cayenne pepper stimulates blood flow and is good for clearing breathing passages.  I also reccomend thyme, eucalyptus, mint, echinacea, or coltsfoot.  Just boil some water and pour it into a mug with any variety of herbs above (garlic especially).  Now cup both hands over the top and inhale the steam slowly through your nose or mouth.  Careful, it may be a little too hot.  Not only does the steam decongest your nasal and breathing passages, but the moisture loosens phlegm and mucus and soothes a dry, irritated throat or nose.  If you have a head cold or that pressure right between your eyes this is SO incredibly soothing and relaxing.  Not to mention all the medicinal benefits you get from the herbs you put in it.  Use small amounts with the herbs (just a pinch or two) because some can be so overwhelming its unpleasant, like eucalyptus or red pepper.  With garlic you can crush a couple pieces though.

Water, and Honey to taste,
2 Tbs Apple Cider Vinager,
Cyanne pepper

This is a home remedy I received from my Osteopath when suffering from a terrible cough. Boil water, add 2 Tablespoons of apple cider vinager. Add honey to taste, not too much though and as many shakes of Cyanne pepper as you can stand...the more the better. The heat in the cyanne pepper really helps soothe and get the virus out. This is very helpful in making a cough more productive. It doesn't taste very good, but it WORKS. I have since grown accustom to the taste and don't mind it so much anymore! Try it out! Let me know if it works for you....
