Making a Class Newsletter

Secondary Level

Before you begin:

Goal: Students will learn to communicate using English in a newsletter.

Objective: Students will demonstrate ability to use computer information to communicate about different topics for example:popular music.

Introduction

Prepare students to create a newsletter having them explore and collect information on a given topic - suggestions(sports,music,school)

Presentation

Present web sites addresses on overhead transparencies .Provide student work. copy of websites, provide them with practice sheet(teacher designed) to practice locating web sites.

Practice

Students use computer to access websites for assigned topics using worhsheet(teacher designed),provided by teacher.Example: Students provide print-outs from websites.Students work in groups and decide on newsletter topics.

NOTE:assesment:Provide scavenger hunt.(worksheet) set up daily routine and close with a discussion and student feedback.
