Before you begin:
- Review note taking skills (listening for key phrases
& main ideas)
- Review oral presentation techniques
- Group students
Introduction:
- Provide directions for activity
- Introduce topic: fraud
- Possible activities 5 minute (max)video clip, e.g.,Finda
an article on the internet and provide an extra link.
Presentation:
1. Students select search engine from among three options
2. Students enter keyword, e.g., fraud
3. Students select article (Students should have different articles)
Practice:
- Students prepare presentation by preparing an oral summary
of main points
- Students in groups present introduction, main ideas, and
conclusion. Identifying verb tenses
- Students select a paragraph of at least 4 sentences identify
verb tenses/voice/modals in the paragraph, and explain their usage.
- Students present to the class
- Students listen to presentation take notes on main points
